Framed People on the Free Parkpop Festival

Our compliments to the organizers of Parkpop, each year they succeed again in the largest free festival in the Netherlands to run smoothly. A variety of great artists, an opportunity for young talent, The Hague sound, versatile catering and many more. But an event like Parkpop is made by the visitors.

And fotovaak.nl is especially proud of the Parkpop visitors who all have one thing in common, that they stay on the last Sunday of June on the grass of the Zuiderpark. These days it does not matter what you believe or where you come from, what your age is. Whether you are attracted to men or because of have nothing with men. Whether you come in drive, walk or crawl. Whether you are in your best suit or walking in your juichsuit. Whether you speak seven languages ​​or just with the accent of The Hague.

Therefore decided fotovaak.nl framing the Parkpop visitors in 2014, thus showing why Parkpop have to keep going every year. Photo Exhibition ‘ Veelzijdigheid’

After years of experience in photography , their well-visited website ( photoblog ) , the Hague photographers Hans and Martin Simonis of fotovaak.nl present some of their works in its own exhibition entitled ‘ Veelzijdigheid’

If we lookup ‘ Veelzijdigheid’ (versatile in English) ‘ in the dictionary is the meaning : a large number of edges , faces and facets (metaphorically ) with diverse interests and/or uses. Versatility is also a beautiful , all-encompassing title for the first photo exhibition of fotovaak.nl

Photos of Martin have been regularly published in various (printed) media and Hans exhibited before. Besides father and son Simonis , anothe photographer from The Hague; Marcel Koelen will be exhibiting as a guest. The title of the exhibition ‘ Versatility ‘ not only in the choice and approach to a subject, but also in colors and editing.

The exhibition will take place at Brasserie / Gallery Mondriaan at the Mall De Savornin Lohmanplein in The Hague. Brasserie Mondriaan has been a gallery feature, but it is also the place for coffee and cake, a delicious lunch or dinner. Brasserie / Gallery Mondriaan also offers space for giving parties, group dinners, receptions, afternoon teas and meetings .

Exhibitors :

Hans Simonis is inspired by including cities, Dutch landsmarks, street, birds, butterflies, artists and live music. Except smal adjustments in lighter or darker, photo-editing is not in his dictionary. He is retired and also the founder of the photoblog: http://www.fotovaak.nl

Martin Simonis know to capture the city life, events, architecture, portraits and nature in a unique way and as a designer he uses his own photographs. Martin Simonis organized this exhibition, he previously directed large and small events .

Marcel Koelen uses the ability of digital manipulation to capture a frame of color and contrast, light and dark, composition and detail , he creates images with sometimes an almost surreal look. Since 2012 Marcel sells his work under the name ” Cool Motions PhotoArt ” .

You are cordially invited to the official opening on Saturday, May 10th, 2014 from 15:00 to 17:00 hours. The three exhibiting photographers are also there to present their pictures and explain their motivation for different subjects.
